"Where Am I Now?

Mars Curiosity Rover reached Sol 1311 this past Wednesday April 13. 2016.  Curiosity is using ChemCam, which is a chemical analysis camera, to determine a rock’s composition from a distance.



Curiosity is going to be observing the chemiluminescense of “Garnet Koppie”, “Amspoort”, “Soutrivier”, and “Uubvley”. The observation of  “Garnet Koppie” and “Amspoort” are reference points to compare the composition of a bright fracture halo; the “Soutrivier” is a reference to a small vein; and “Uubvley” is a fin material near a fracture. This information recorded by the Curiosity is compared with the previous documented images targets and references points.

After the observation and analysis of the data, Curiosity moves forward to have a view of the landscape. The transfer made by Curiosity gives access to the view of the irregularities from the orbit. The purpose of the relocation of Curiosity was to make atmospheric observation on Sol 1312, and record data.
